Scentsy Just annouced that they will be opening their doors to Europe this spring!!

October 2009 Scentsy opened their doors internationally for the first time in Canada. Now I am so excited to announce that key executives will be going to Europe, specifically the United Kingdom, and Germany in March to meet with existing Scentsy Consultants on military bases and with any other interested prospects who want to learn about Scentsy.

This is BIG new for Scentsy, and those of us within Scentsy, who have already had the opportunity to be on the ground floor of this incredible Home Based business opportunity. June!!

Did we skip the month of May? It is June already and I have already missed a week! I love the month of June...it used to mean that school was out for the summer, the beginning of lazy days of running through the sprinklers and eating popsicles. I was born in the month of June and I married in the month of June. The first day of summer is in June and spirits begin to lift as the days get longer and our nights our warmer. I love June!

We have 2 beautiful new Scentsy warmers for the month of June - "Fore" to celebrate our fabulous Dads and "Freedom Bundle" to celebrate our fabulous country! We are also bringing back 20 bars that everyone has voted for...from old fashion Leather to Fried Ice Cream and Eucalyptus. Now is the perfect time to host your home party or better yet, take a basket of testers into your office (make it smell better) and have an office party!

New Warmer of the Month

May's warmer is simply fabulous! A delicate "bird bath", Natures Haven has natural colors and can I say the scent of the month is divine! Clarity is a mixture of rosemary, thyme, and lemon - very fresh and revitalizing!

Can you believe that 8 weeks in and I am #2 in PRV (Personal Retail Volume) on my entire team of 456??? Crazy, never thought I would be doing this but what fun I have had creating this new business for myself. My goal is to be promoted to Director by the end of the summer. Yes mom, maybe this is what I needed...we shall see!

Learning to Dance in the Rain

Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...

it's about learning how to Dance in the Rain!

I think the universe is telling (or reminding) me of the simple things...my favorite saying (the above) keeps popping up, in emails, on books, at antique shops, everywhere!! I found this saying when Gavin became an angel and it has been something that I have tried to live by, but every so often, it is easy to get off track and forget.

Did you ever see Pollyanna? Playing The Glad Game certainly helps me dance!! I am glad for my husband that endlessly supports my crazy endeavors, i am glad for my son who keeps me up all night so that I may be close to him, I am glad for my house for my family to live in, and so on and so on. No matter what your troubles there are always still plenty of things to be grateful for.

There is nothing more precious than the present and being able to find deep pleasure in that helps me focus (or refocus) on my goal.

Where did the time go?

Time...something we wish we had more of. If only I had the time...it is time for change, but where do I find time?...if I only had more time...

At the beginning of the month, as noted in previous blogs, my mom signed me up to sell Scentsy Wickless Candles and I thought, "okay, i will get around to it" and now, with just a short time passing by, I have done over $2000 in sales, bought my own domain, and have several large boutiques to participate in. Crazy! I wonder what I would have done if I actually had put more "time" into it...if I only had more :-)

Hudson is now 7 months, where did the time go? He is crawling, mostly backwards, and gets up on his feet in the "stink bug" position to propel himself forward. He almost has it and now I have to think about baby proofing the house. Yikes! Thanks to my sister Melissa and her staying with me a few years back, my kitchen cabinets are done. Thanks Melissa! And how about the super cute babble??? I fall more in love with him everyday!

Happy St. Baldricks Day

What goes better with green beer than a shaved head??? Nothing, especially when you are shaving your head to raise money for a Children's Cancer Foundation.

St. Baldricks uses the donations to fund more childhood cancer research grants than any other organization except for the government. Volunteers shave their heads in solidarity with kids fighting cancer and family and friends give generously. We have Gavin's story honored on their website at http://www.stbaldricks.org/ - Gavin R.

Thank you for all those who supported Craig in is effort to raise funds in memory of Gavin. And thank you to Chris, you are hilarious!! We love you!!

We had an outstanding time at the event and when we left, only an hour into the event, they had raised over $38,000 for childhood cancer research. There were all ages, from young children, girls and boys, and people just wanting to give what they could. Hudson even got his face painted!!

An early celebration for St. Patty's day, but I think well worth it!!

All is quiet...

All is quiet in the Roark house...it is a sweet, yet eerie, feeling. The only sound is the slight humming from my laptop and my fingers as they pound away on the keyboard.

Ahhhhh...i love that sound.

I was thinking to mysef today that how strange is it that when I decided to change careers and become a stay-at-home mom that I would become busier than what I was when I was working full time at my "corporate" job. Who would have thought? My days are full with play time with Hudson, laundry, cooking, cleaning, play dates or maybe a little exercise...but also, running my businesses, making sure I have office supplies, answering emails & phone calls, and entering orders. And that is just the start of it...by the time I look at the clock, it is time for bed and prepare to do it all over again the next day.

Can you relate? I am sure you can and even if not in this exact manner...but we wouldn't change it for the world!

and all is quiet again...

On the move...

Changing it up here in the Roark Family...Hudson is now 6 months and ready to go! He wants nothing to do with laying on his back or sleeping. All he wants to do is see what is around him and move around. It is fun!

I, on the other hand, am trying a new product, Scentsy. I know all you Utahans know what it is, but maybe there are peeps out here that don't. And if they do, oh well...I just got a bunch of product for nothing. :-) Anyone interested?

Just trying to stay home with the baby and keep my sanity at the same time.

Sleepy time...

Isn't it the best? But now I find myself wondering what to do...I have PLENTY that I could be doing, but do I want to, no, not really.

We went to the doctor yesterday. Hudson gained 1 1/2 lbs in the last week. It is no wonder that he is looking more chubby and wants to eat every 2 hours, on the dot! He appears to be super heathly and the doctor just had me start him on Vitamins. Boy, do they smell nasty!! Poor buddy has to actually taste them.

I am getting the pictures from our friend Cheyenne today...I a so excited and can't wait to share.

Back to my idle time...maybe I should sleep.

Start again...

So, I have decided to start my blog again, but not sue how long that will last. I love the idea that I can share new things that happen with my son...we shall see if I can fit it in between feeding and tending to Hudson, ding my Biology and Sociology homework, and basically running a household. :-)

Hudson was born on August 27 2009 @ 6:18 p.m. I was in labor all night long and he finally made his appearance late that day - but not without complications - Hudson decided to turn his head midway through labor, and POOF! my contractions ceased. A little sprinkle of Pitocin (which I was not happy with considering I wanted drug free births) and a few crazy positions on my part, we were back in business and an hour and half later, Hudson showed up.

He is such a good baby, I think to myself that this is way too easy. The doctor check ups come with nothing...there are no strange things that I have to watch...and the crying, well, it only exists if he is super tired! So strange...Babies are truly a miracle.

On September 1st, we took Hudson for his first visit to Gavin's park...he slept the entire time. I feel so torn between happy and sad. I want Hudson to know his older brother and know that he will one day, but until then, I will have to fill him in on the details of how wonderful Gavin is.

Yesterday, a friend of Kelly's came and took pictures of our miracle. I am so excited to get them and share with others, I couldn't be prouder!

Sunday in the Cold

It is a Sunday evening in cold Utah...and I actually was thinking about moving back here...NOT! Too cold and unpredictable. Had a great family get-together dinner and I have decided that I am not sure that I have enough going on in my life right now that is even remotely interesting to blog. Maybe it might get interesting when the baby boy comes along, who knows.
I can't blog about my favorite fashion profession because I just read it is now against the rules...so weird, but whatever is all I can say. My salon business is not really exciting to blog about except for all the crazy girls I work with, and well, that is just a whole other story, which would take too long to even start.

So I think I will break from blogging for now...unless something interesting happens...like we have a baby or something!!

Do I look okay?

Hilarous!! I just went to an "interview" for a part-time job, while I get my CAbi business moving forward as well as my business at the salon, at Department Store in their cosmetic department. The "interview" was scheduled for 11:00 a.m....well, I arrived promptly 5 minutes before (filled out the application online) and was escorted into a room where there were already 2 other people waiting. Is this a group interview, I thought? I almost felt like I was trying out for the Apprentice again but without waking up at 5 a.m. and standing in line for 4 hours.
The "interviewer" came in and began to explain the process. We were to tell her our name, one word that describes us, and our availability. Hmmmm...easy enough. When we were done with that, the interviewer said that she had already printed out our applications and she was now going to go in the other room to see if she had any matches for us. So we wait...called out one by one and alas, I got a "second interview" and was out of there at 11:15 a.m. sharp.

Okay, where they "screening" me in a way that was politicially correct? It sure felt like it...guess I still look okay in my old age.

Went to the second "interview" where they proceeded to interview me and another girl on the department sales floor...asked a few questions and then the hiring manager took me back in her office and told me she had a part-time poistion open with one of her counters. She also then said that because I have management background, I may be more interested in a managers position and referred me over to another store. Now I have an "interview" today (yes on Sunday, my only none makeup day) with this store. Argh...very interesting process. Or quite entertaining. I guess I am just used to being grilled for my executive positions that I apply for, so this was cake!

Sunny Monday

It is so beautiful here today! I hear that Utah (my home town) had another snow storm and I feel so bad that I am sitting here in mid-70's weather! Okay, maybe not that bad. K made it home from training in Kernville without a scratch, thank goodness, and we are headed into the new week. We have our BIG ultra sound next week Tuesday. See if the baby is growing right and hopefully will be able to determine the gender! More to come!!

Glad it is a sunny day!!

So we made it through the weekend, but not without the help and support of our wonderful friends and family. We could have not done it without you, so THANK YOU!! We are now completely exhausted, but are moving forward with the week and will find joy in each new day!

4 months and counting...Tomorrow is Kelly and Gavin's birthday. It would be Gavin's 1st...we are planning on having lunch at "Gavin's Park" and then have friends and family over for a celebration of Kelly's birthday. It will be nice to have so many people around, helping us through this.

I am starting my BLOG

So, here I am...I am finally setting up the blog that everyone has bugged me to do...not sure if I am doing it right, but I am slowly figuring this out. I am sure if I ask my neighbor's kids (who are 8 & 10) they could show me how. :-) Hah!

So we are pregnant again...as my dad said, "wow, you sure are trusting..." but I am not sure if it is trust or just faith that we are going to be okay. We are 15 weeeks and due in September.
